An archive of Italian mademen's footwear from 1973 to today
In order to celebrate Doucal’s 40thanniversary in 2013, the Giannini family added a brand-new wing to the original manufacturing building which they decided to use as an archive.
It is a museum collection in the true sense of the word, showcasing not only 3,000 pairs of shoes but also sketches, notes and feasibility studies.
The company has put together a comprehensive manufacturing retrospective from the 70s to today, has been carefully labelled and put in chronological order.
The result is one of the few Italian archives archives narrating the history of contemporary men’s footwear.
